ABC reporter Emma Alberici is lucky to still have her fingers after a horrific kitchen accident.
The ABC chief economics correspondent revealed on Twitter this morning she underwent surgery at the Prince of Wales hospital on the weekend after cutting her fingers in a blender.
“Advice: Don’t put fingers in stick blender blade to wash it while it’s still plugged in to the power,” the former Lateline host wrote.
“Fingers survived thanks to the incredible work of surgeon & team at Prince of Wales Hospital. Forever grateful we live in a country so blessed with world class medical treatment.”
Fans and colleagues wished Alberici a speedy recovery, with ABC News Breakfast co-host Virginia Trioli writing, “Bloody hell! Take care — don’t get that thing wet!”
